On January 1, 2008, the new Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines began operations in the jurisdictions of the former Girl Scouts – Land of Lakes Council, Girl Scouts – Northern Pine Council and a portion of the Peacepipe and the Pine to Prairie Councils.  This merger allowed the organization to build capacity, increase efficiencies, and be proactive to issues affecting girls.
